We value a culturally diverse workforce, and we’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other legally protected basis, in accordance with applicable law.
Our focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion makes KCS a great place to work and ensures we hire the best people for the job from a diverse pool of candidates. Strong internal policies help us advance our values and ensure that KCS employees feel valued and respected. Read our full diversity statement here.
The railroad workforce has been traditionally male for generations. It is our goal to foster a culture of diversity and attract, develop and retain a diverse and inclusive workforce. Partnerships with organizations like the League of Railway Women have helped us in our efforts to create a more gender-balanced workforce at Kansas City Southern.
KCS has a rich history of charitable giving and employee volunteerism. Our annual Holiday Express event raises funds to help communities on the KCS network, and the Mexican counterpart, Tren Navideño, helps children from low-income communities throughout Mexico. Programs such as Matching Gifts and KCS Cares help individual employees give back to their communities.
We’re committed to protecting the environment, especially the ecosystems in which we operate. The Monarch Mariposa Project, for example, preserves and protects the habitats of monarch butterflies, which travel along the “Monarch Highway” as they migrate from the United States to Mexico with the changing seasons. This highway is directly along the KCS network route. View our sustainability report to learn more about our commitment to the environment.
